hello!!! i've been suspected to have ADHD for a couple years now, but with poor communication between clinics/psychologists, i've only finally been able to be properly diagnosed within the last month. i'm seeking treatment and after meeting with my psychiatrist, i'm interested in starting with stimulants. i was told that i would likely start with ritalin, adderall, or vyvanse, so i'm getting ready to research these!!! one concern my psychiatrist and i have is how it'll affect me and hallucinations i experience. my hallucinations get much worse under stress/high anxiety, so we hope that medication will help those things and in turn we won't have to worry about them, but i'm interested in hearing what others might've experienced!!!

Ritalin destroyed my ability to process those meds and made my symptoms worse because I was prescribed it before I was 22 but adderall was great

Some people have shared their experiences with these medications. One person mentioned that they took Ritalin for two weeks but it didn't work for them, so they switched to Adderall which has been working great for them for over a year. Another person was diagnosed with ADD and prescribed Methylphenidate (which is the same as Ritalin) along with other medications for different symptoms. They also mentioned taking Vyvanse. However, some people have experienced side effects such as nausea with Ritalin, and panic attacks with Adderall. It's important to note that everyone reacts differently to medication, so what works for one person might not work for another.
