Looking for advice on ADHD medication alternatives

I was just seeing if anyone out here has been on Adderall but realized it was never helping them and switched to a new medication? Ritalin makes me sleepy and when I take Adderall I feel like I think it’s working but at the same time I’m not sure if that’s just a placebo. I see my doctor in a week and wanted to get your opinions on some alternatives that worked much better for you. Thank you.

I take guaifenisin..if thats how ya spell it and conscerta, you ever tried those? It kinda slows down my mind and body so I am able to do more consideration and reflecting when I'mon them..but for overwhelming thoughts you should get yourself deeply involved in something, anything. A job, a book club. I use a podcast app called "spoon" sometimes wen I feel overwhelmed..it gives me people to talk to so I can get my mind on one thing and also be distracted from everything else.

I noticed instantly a change. It was weird at first. I felt like my brain was "clear". Normally, I would have 100-different thoughts, and be super forgetful. I still forget things, and am working on my skills, but I've noticed a difference in my ability to relax and focus more so on a task at hand, instead of starting 100 projects at once. I've also noticed a difference in my ability to start tasks when I'm less motivated.
