My parents said I don’t “move around enough” to have adhd. My close friends, coworkers, and bosses say it is present and severe. Any ideas on what I should do to get diagnosed?

Go to a doctor and talk to them about your symptoms. You'll get a diagnosis on that.

Find a local psychiatrist and they will administer a test. Usually it’s verbal or a questionnaire. Then you will have a diagnosis.

sometimes the hyperactivity isn't physical, it's mental/emotional. people can't see how fast your brain moves, but it's not calm in there for sure
You might have just ADD(no hyperactivity) which is what my Sister has or, also possibly you have ADHD-inattentive type but idk, I’m not a doctor

adhd isn’t always with hyperactivity. i had adhd with hyperactivity as a child and now it’s turned into adhd without hyperactivity. maybe do research on that and educate your parents on how a diagnosis affects everyone differently with not all the same symptoms and look into finding a therapist or someone to evaluate you for it.
One doctor said I didn't have Adhd because I wasn't 'hyper' and completely ignored or forgot that Inattentive type adhd (formerly known as ADD) existed. This doctor was not a good doctor. So yeah, don't be afraid to try different doctors. Sorry for the paragraphs 😔

Ask your doctor about it, might give you a referral to a mental health place. Just call and make sure in advance that they are capable of diagnosing adhd. I kept getting sent to doctors who couldnt do it. I guess you have to have a special certification? No idea, very frustrating. When you do see a doctor, if they say you aren't adhd. Ask their reasoning and it doesn't make sense or you think they are wrong, try a different doctor. I've gotten lots of conflicting diagnoses from different doctors until I found one that actually helped me.
I’m struggling with a diagnosis. All I want is to be tested, but my concerns keep getting pushed aside. Let me know if you find anything out! ~Louise💛
Start by talking to your doctor about your concerns. They can help you get started on the right track to diagnosis. 👍🏻 —Willow
