18, college and switching to online for Covid was super hard for me and it made my ADHD much worse and more apparent to my mom who helped find someone to diagnose me

16, I have autism too but I masked and mimicked others so well that I wasn't diagnosed as child despite how much I needed to be

33 šŸ™ƒ 31 of those years having no idea and living fully undiagnosed. Took the past year switching providers and advocating for myself over and over to FINALLY get a diagnosis. I have a lot of learning to catch up on, so that is why I’m hereby

I was 19 when I was diagnosed with ADHD NOS (I didn’t fully fit the criteria). Now 9 years later, I’m being retested for autism.

      16. I knew I had it since I was 14 and I had multiple teachers concerned about my very blatantly innattentive symptoms as a child, but my parents wouldn't let me get tested until I started falling my classes in 11th grade.

      20. I was an extremely shy and socially anxious child, and I was naturally good at schoolwork, so my teachers never suspected anything could be wrong with me

22 - only because my partner at the time brought it up that I shared lots of aspects of ADHD with him, and he was diagnosed as a kid because he had the hyperactive part of ADHD I don’t have. I thought about it and ended up on the side of tiktok with people with diagnosed ADHD and it changed my perspective of it, hearing people’s stories. I asked my therapist about it and she tested me. I got the full score on the Inattentive type (I didn’t even know that was a thing) and 4/9 on the hyperactive part. I struggled in a high school and environment where mental health was reduced to ā€œstressā€ and ā€œsuicideā€ and no in between. I was in my 5th year of college and I’m just now getting accommodations in my last semester of my undergrad.

I was 8 years old when I was diagnosed. When I was diagnosed it was considered a fringe science and I had to go see a specialist. My doctor put me on ritalin but my parents took me off a month later. I have never had any treatment for it since but me and my doctor plan to work on it next after my gastric sleeve surgery.
