My Dr told me meds can only take us so far. Finding a good counselor that can teach me tools and hold me accountable when I stay away from using them. I start June 7th!

Pills don’t teach the skills… pills help the skills. That said it can take awhile to find the right med & dose that work for you. I’d suggest looking into getting an adhd coach, following adhd coaches on IG and join a few FB adhd groups. Reading up on adhd is a big one too there are many books that help. Women with ADHD by sari solden get the book NOT the workbook. You can get the workbook but Id only get it after you’ve read the book as it’s supposed to be an accompanying workbook.

@RileyRussell of course! It’s hard to give a ton of suggestions as adhd presents different in everyone. What I can say is learn how it presents in you and then ask specific questions and look into how to help yourself. Also learning what doesn’t work for you and WHY. Most importantly be kind and patient with yourself. Also, want to say; if you were diagnosed young it probably wouldn’t have made a difference as they didn’t really know what to do for adhd (well unless you present as a hyperactive boy - but even then it’s limited). Although 20 years from now if you’re diagnosed late in life then early diagnosis may have helped but now , no - there just wasn’t enough info so don’t dwell on this💚

I recently started taking Ritalin at a very low dose to help with focus and brain fog.
