Basically just try the best I can to listen, I dont think there is much else we can do to stop that other then some medication but there very well could be a way. But I dont know about it. Would like to know too if anyone else has any suggestions.

I use small stims like chewing gum or tapping my fingers on a part of my body to add more sensory stuff to focus on. Sometimes it's seen as rude but much less than zoning out trying to control myself or just walking off mid conversation

I do it too thank you I feel rude but I can't Take it by just listening sometimes or I'll zone out and I'll get the question repeat what I just said to you and i can't.

I just try my best to listen. Usually if I have a pen or something in my hand to fidget with I listen better. I also found that if I repeat back to the other person ( in the form of a question) what they said it shows them I'm trying to listen and understand what they told me.
