Dealing with Panic Attacks and Relationships

i had a panic attack last night, my panic attacks come from my fear of throwing up. i woke up out of no where from a weird dream and immediately felt a panic attack coming. my panic attack was so bad that i was gagging, shaking for 2 hours, tingling in my fingers, and had light headedness. i was wondering if anyone else is in my position? i feel so alone right now and i feel that im affecting my relationships. my boyfriend was with me through the whole thing but i feel SO BAD

i’m on citalopram and i’m trying to get something for the panic attacks since they are becoming so severe, i used to have this fear and severe anxiety as a kid and it went away for like two years (while i had an eating disorder) and now it’s back to bite me in the butt. so this time i decided to try medicine and here i am!

I’ve never found someone else who gets panic attacks from fear of throwing up. It took me 6 years on two different meds to even use the words throwing up (I still can’t say any of the other words that refer to it). I don’t know if this is great advice but for many years I’ve just told myself my body can’t throw up. I don’t have the ability. I can’t do it and I don’t do it. I just repeat that to myself. Other than that though the only thing that has truly helped me is medication. I’m on Duloxetine and it works decently well for me. Therapy has never helped me with this particular problem though it has helped me with others
