Momentum is tricky with ADHD! Specially for tasks we don't necessarily want to do or enjoy doing. For me the biggest help has been a body double. Having someone exist in the same space either in person or on Skype helps immensely to keep me mostly on track even if they are doing their own thing.

I love this reply especially because I've found that the person doesn't even necessarily need to be in the same room as me as long as they're there in some way. I think the last time I successfully cleaned my room was when I used to FaceTime my friend qll the time and she would get me back on track, let me gush over the neat things I found, but remind me to stay focused and keep moving. I think I need to try this again.

I have found putting in headphones with 8D music playing keeps me motivated. YouTube has some great 8D playlist.

I do the same thing, instead of Turing on a TV show try music. Also take 1 room at a time.

I second smaller goals! And cleaning with someone else if you can. Also, if you know TV is distracting, try not to have it on while you're cleaning. Make that your end reward instead.

Literal story of my life! I’ve found that it helps to have someone else in the room with me to hold me accountable, or just making my goals smaller/breaking the task into smaller pieces so I can take breaks
