Adding an antidepressant to Lamictal for bipolar

Prozac and lamictal was the magic combo for me, lamictal on its leveled me out but at a low/depressed level, antidepressants in their own made me manic but the two together were beautiful

It's a week now I've been off Zoloft because of side effects ,but I'm back to depression and being irritated, stressed ..

I was taking Zoloft 100mg, but I took myself off because of a side effect that I felt put me in a deeper depression, and that side effect is my face started breaking out really bad , I've never had this problem ever , I'm already feeling bad about myself because I've gained alot of weight too since taking it, now my face is breaking out, I'm feeling so gross in my own skin..worse than ever..

Wellbutrin is an SNRI. I’ve had no issues with it. Prozac was definitely not good with Lamictal for me.

It's really different for everyone, but SSRIs caused me the most issues with causing me to rapid cycle. I've been on Wellbutrin the whole time and have never needed to come off of it cause once I stopped my SSRIs and got on lamictal the hypomanic episodes stopped almost entirely. I think it helps me with my mood and my ADHD. Good luck! Don't be scared to at least try if you don't feel like you're getting enough from just a mood stabilizer since it doesn't happen to everyone.

I have heard that wellbutrin and bipolar do not go well together. I have experienced this first hand. Just made my mood worse. I take sertraline for depression/anxiety in addition to my Lamictal and it's great
