Stomach Pain After Taking Adderall XR: How Long Does It Last?

I started taking Adderall XR two days ago and I'm having bad stomach pain, as if i'm really hungry and haven't eaten for a while. If I eat it goes away for a while, but it seems like my threshold for hunger pain is lower. How long does this generally last/is there any way to make the pain more bearable?

I haven't had the always hungry reaction...but stimulants can have undesired digestive issues when you first start them, but after a few days to it week, it typically goes away. I've found that on adderall and adderall xr, I have to drink a lot more water to feel comfortable.

Its limited to hunger in my case, but i am sort of sore after it wears off. I keep healthy snacks around because like you said a few bites and im better. Also, keep moving - my stomach feels better if i get up and walk around.

I know someone else suggested it, but I really want to emphasize how important it is to make sure that you're drinking enough liquid. And no, it doesn't have to be water lol. Adderall will make you become dehydrated much more quickly, so you have to start drinking more liquid than you're used to normally drinking. I know you say that the hunger pain goes away sometimes, but then it comes back. If you know roughly how long it takes between when it goes away and comes back, you can use that to kind of schedule little snacks. For example, if you get the pain back after three hours, plan on having something like a granola bar every three hours. If you find that the pain is coming back really quickly, don't be afraid to call your doctor and ask for advice.
