Looking for advice on taking Adderall with anxiety medication

Hi everyone, I recently got diagnosed with ADHD which helped me understand a lot more about my OCD & GAD. I take anxiety medication and am considering Adderall to hopefully feel like I have some control over my thoughts but am nervous about how I’ll feel on it and whether my anxiety will get worse. Anyone here been on Adderall and/or anxiety med + Adderall and what was that like?

I have taken adderall about 2 times. The first time it was 5mg and the second time 10mg. I have narcolepsy but the 5mg didn’t do anything and I ended falling asleep on it. With 10mg it kept me alert but not jittery and didn’t cause any anxiety. I think everyone reacts to it differently.

Adderall gives me heart palpitations when I take the first dose after a long month break of taking any. If I take it regularly I have less problems

i’m on zoloft and an adderall generic, but i’ve been taking the adderall generic since first grade. for me, my anxiety doesn’t really react to my ADHD meds unless i also drink a lot of caffeine that day, and even then it’s only physical symptoms, not emotional.

I take adderall and zoloft for anxiety, for me Adderall didn’t make me more anxious except for some of the physical symptoms (shaky, fast heart rate). But my thoughts were a lot calmer actually

Personally when I was on Adderall I couldn’t sleep. I also got hooked on Adderall after a few weeks of taking it. But it does work for some people. I would say try it and stop if your condition gets worse/you get addicted.

I am on lexapro (for me it’s for anxiety and depression but it really only helps w depression for me) and i just started ritalin about a month ago (i know you said adderal but still) my experience was very chill. I mostly just felt more awake than i have been in a long time. I was anxious about starting it bc i wasn’t sure how it would affect me but the actual medication didn’t cause any anxiety (that i noticed)

At first it made me more anxious but within a few days my body got used to it, but that may not be the case for you. Everyone is so different that the only way to know how it'll affect you is to try!
