Prescribed Adderall for Possible ADHD - Looking for Experiences

I was just prescribed Adderall yesterday. I have to wait two weeks to start it because I'm also working on raising the dose of a different medication over those two weeks. she said that it's likely that I have adhd, but the ultimate test will be how I react to it. I was wondering if anyone who has experience with it could let me know what it went like for you? and if there's anyone who found out they didn't have adhd because of it, how did that go for you?

I’ve been on adderall xr for my adhd for a little over a year and it has helped me tremendously. I have severe time blindness and it’s helped that a lot, as well as ability to “hone in” on what I need to get done. The only bummer is that I think my body metabolizes it faster than it’s supposed to because it wears off around 2:00-3:00pm so I have a short-acting dose I take as-needed when I still have work to get done later in the day/evening.

what do you mean by "by itself"? do you need to take another medication to feel functional?

honestly i didn't really feel the adderall, it helps me focus and makes it easier to get in the zone but it doesn't do much by itself

When i first started adderall xr it basically confirmed that i had adhd. Within an hour of the first dose i took, my brain felt SO silent, its like the 9,00000 things that were always going on in my head went to like 3-4 and it was weird, but its helped me a lot ever since.
