Does anyone else deal with a low self imagine because of acne? I’ve had it for a few years and it’s hasn’t gone away no matter how hard I try. Any tips to get over that and not let it make you feel bad?

Everything Yellowbug said!!! Also, one thing my therapist told me helps me: "you weren't birthed onto this planet to look good for other people. Your purpose is not to look good to the people looking at you. If they don't like it, tell em don't look." I say that to myself when I have a hard time going to work with my blemish stickers on during a bad breakout.

My acne is my #1 insecurity and lowers my self image more than I admit. Ive tried everything and it never goes away, its genetics and hormones and its not like I can easily control either of those. The way ive made myself feel better is by going out in out in public and seeing other people going through the same thing. I dont think of them as ugly or less than, so I shouldnt think of myself that way either. And if anyone does think of me that way I would rather not have them in my life.
