How do we choose a career? I know about the whole "Everyone changes their career like 5 times" but, how do we even start to choose a career when all of us have such different interests and needs? Not to mention that we may not even be able to have a career and may end up living on disability. The body is 17 and will be a senior in highschool soon so time is running out.

We changed our major three times. This was before I even knew the system existed. I was doing fine arts, pre med, and teaching. Settled on the teaching. It wasn't really the right choice! We now realize we can't handle the stress of that job. We are currently substitute teaching, but it's difficult. We are constantly questioning what we're supposed to do with ourselves if we can't work and pay bills. We are about to get married so disability is out of the picture. It's hard. It really is. Some days you just have to keep hanging on, even if it's difficult. These periods won't last forever. Eventually you will work through the trauma and will be able to reach a healthier state of mind!

I had the same thoughts when I was in highschool, I want you to know you'll be alright. I wasn't aware of our system at the time but I can see now that some of our struggle was caused by alters bickering in the background šŸ˜… Highschools (in America at least) tend to make university sound so serious and permanent and horrifying and it's really not. In my experience, some of the most supportive people I've met were from our uni. You and your system are not defined by your career and changing majors/jobs/interests is just a part of growing. We've found it to be rather exciting actually! We're here for you and so is your system ā¤ļø
