Oh, my heart goes out to you ❤️ School can be so hard, I dropped out of college during a manic episode and never ended up re-enrolling. That was 13 years ago. I'm proud of you for hanging in there. I know it can be really hard. I really liked what @toodlebug had to say. Definitely all of those suggestions are huge. And breaking big things down into little manageable pieces really can make it less overwhelming. Then you can complete one piece at a time😊 For me, I used medication for many years to make it through assignments, but the side effects can be challenging. Now I take a supplement called Dopamine Brain Food by Natural Stacks. I don't think it's as strong as the medication, but it helps me make it through the days and at the end of the day it's just vitamins so I think it's been a real life saver for me personally.

Do some Google searching about ADHD dopamine deficiency and try to educate your parents about what is happening in your brain and how important it is to your future to get help
Also if you are not able to take a stimulant medication due to your parents not allowing it, maybe they would let you take the non stimulant drug Strattera
That actually mightn’t work w reading the great gastby in one night

You can try setting a timer to see how many pages you can read in 5 minutes. Then set it again and see if you can beat your record and read more pages in the next 5 minutes. Any way you can turn the task into a mini game can help keep you motivated

I’ll try that! Thank you :)
Without medication the best way to get things done is try to figure out a way to make the task interesting, challenging, or urgent
Well my parents don’t want me on any and you can se how that’s a big problem. I’m going to the doctor the 21 hopefully I can get some now that I’m over 16
Are you on ADHD medication? Is it instant release or extended release?
doing little things to regulate my nervous system first; humming, singing, taking a shower, light workout, intentional breathing, self care, or sitting in the sun surprisingly helps me a heck of a lot. then writing down the things I want to accomplish, along with the amount of time it might take. I try to focus on one at a time instead of the whole picture. The mental block is very real, and trying to mentally/emotionally restart and rewire is a good place to start. here for you !💗
