stopping effexor, having major brain zaps and it’s almost debilitating. having mental breakdowns left and right because if i get too many in a row they make me feel sick and make me panic, how long do they last? i was only on 37.5 mg this is the second day and i feel like i can’t handle it

Definitely contact your dr or neurologist as this can really make you so very sick that you may need hospitalization to get through it. I personally have had Effexor withdrawal so bad I had to stay in the hospital after being taken off it after an asthma attack for an extra week almost to wean down which ended up not even happening and I literally gave up and will try again to wean down when I’m stronger. You have to be in the right place and health :/ brain zaps are scary. Can potentially cause seizures but not in everyone. Best to be safe. it also sadly can last a while (like 2 weeks then to have it properly in your system again takes even longer in my experience) I wouldn’t wish it on anyone honestly I don’t think it’s safe without you being cared for so you stay hydrated and have company in case you need help. but that’s just my opinion. Wishing you all the best💕

@IcecreamMoon I should add I have narcolepsy so I’m on Effexor for multiple reasons so you might have an easier time!
