May I ask what side effects it gave you?
My daughter is in recovery, she cannot have benzo's but she's on Buspar 1 mg daily and she says it took away her sweaty nervous hands and took the edge off. It's something that needs to build up with your system so maybe ask your doc if you can start busbar before you end your Xanax. Your going to notice the fog lifting a few weeks after you stop taking the Xanax and you can think a bit clearer, maybe not, that's just how it was for me.

Congrats! I was at 2mg Xanax and am now having a hard time going from 1mg to 1/2mg. So I went against my APN’s advice and kept on with the 1 mg. I will start 1/2mg Dec 1 and go down to my last dose of 1/4mg on Jan 1. Are you taking anything any other meds for anxiety other than benzos? I need to find something, but don’t know what.
I did! I did it gradually, so it took time. Every few weeks I reduced the dose until I stopped completely.
