I'm new at this so I'm just going to say what's on my mind. I'm not looking for any criticism I just don't want to be judged. I have PTSD, anxiety, severe chronic depression, with suicidal ideation. I've been through tons of meds and mixtures of meds. Etc, therapy, hospitalized, attempted suicide and almost succeeded 5 years ago. And now I'm on ketamine treatments. And when it comes down to it I don't won't to live, but, I'm here. I've lost a lot because of my depression and I know I sound selfish when I say this because there's a lot of people out there worse than me. So how can I feel this way. Of course there's more to my story but is there anyone out there that feels like this in anyway?

Yeah I completely understand. I think it’s also part of depression to magnify those days so that when you’re in the middle of them it feels like you’ve felt that badly for much longer than how long it’s actually been in reality. I can’t say I’ve found a solution to stop those days from happening, but I know now to give myself time and just allow myself to not be perfect on those days. What helped me was when my doctor suggested keeping a daily log on a small calendar (I use one of those personal diaries that also shows all 30 days on a mini calendar at the start of the month) to give each day a rating of 1-10. Now, it also took me a full 3 months to just decide what my scale of 1-10 meant to me. Like, what does a 3 look/feel like? Versus what does a 7 look/feel like? When I’d look back on my calendar I was surprised to find that I DID have a couple days that weren’t so bad, but my bad days were just taking up way more real estate in my mind. It also helps for my doctor visits so I can average out my monthly score and it gives us a tangible score of whether I’m doing the same/worse/better since our last visit.

I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and am taking meds. I just have bad days that I can’t shake it

Hi! I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. Have you been diagnosed by your doctor with depression and tried any treatments or are you just now starting to feel like you’re depressed?
