This is going to be kind of a weird situation that is causing me a ton of anxiety. Any time I have to tell my parents something, my anxiety soars. They are very opinionated and find issues with many of my choices even though I’m an adult. They make me scared with situations with what ifs and kind of guilt trip me to not do things. Well the whole issue now is I’ve decided to do a trip abroad (quickly planned). I’m going with my friend who they know and trust. But I haven’t figured out a way to tell them yet. They’re going to yell at me and try to scare me out of it when it is set in stone now. I’ve never been abroad so they’re going to lose it. I’d like them to be like normal parents and be happy/excited for me and not yell when I’m an adult making adult choices. Ugh but obviously I have to tell them soon, it’s just mentally preparing to not react to them and be strong. Any one else have these situations?

I would say the positives! And show them how mature you can be

I would go into the conversation with details of the trip (and be positive that you want to go on this trip) to priced your parents with and if they try to scare you out if it, remember that you already know it's safe weather they think so or not
