McDonald's and My IBS: A Workplace Nightmare

I hate how jobs say they care about their employees, but they don't mean it. I take drive-thru orders at McDonalds. My IBS can hit randomly and aggressively. They made me wait literally over half an hour after I told them I needed the bathroom. now I'm literally crying in the bathroom because of how much I hurt from holding it. please tell me I'm not alone

      Your definitely not alone, I feel the pain. Unfortunately because that happens I end up getting fired. So I can't work and now I'm fighting for disability once again. ❤️ 🙏

      I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. Why won’t your MD write you a note? Can you go to a different doctor? An Urgent Care centre may be able to give you a note for IBS if you go get seen by them. I agree with you: the work environment in the US is atrocious. I’m sorry you’re being treated this way; you don’t deserve it. Big hugs! 💖

      Would it be possible to reach out to Human Resources Dept to ask for reasonable accommodations? That could make a world of difference

        @melabeille I've tried. They won't anything without a doctors note and my doctor is refusing to write anything for me

          @Emma8901 I'm so sorry to hear that - that's outrageous! Would a copy of recent medical records suffice at all? Surely in the notes they'll have mentioned these symptoms you've shared during your appts?
