I totally understand you. My dad also suffers from an eating disorder that isn’t being treated so going home can be extremely triggering. What helps me is seeing how far I’ve come and the freedom that I’ve gained from that. Do I really want to be in my 50s consumed in this disorder? Ideally no. Do I want my future kids to feel the pressure of having an Ed like I did with my dad? Of course not. It’s a lot easier said than done especially when you already have the eating disorder voice in your head and then you have outsiders agreeing with it. You are so strong and even when you feel weak reach out to those who know your situation and know your worth.
I had this problem not to long ago. While what they say is harmful and not right, most of them are from a time were it was normal to say that stuff. It's not an excuse but can help you understand where they're coming from. My psychiatrist always says to "swerve". Basically just try to switch topics while doing thought stopping so their comments dont go right to your head. It sucks when your family doesn't understand what you're going through. Hopefully it gets better :)
