hi, so I made another post before this one. it was talking about nightmares and asking if it's trauma related. I did want to touch up on that subject a bit more and go in more detail about the dreams I am having. feel free to help interpet and tell me what you think as well. massive trigger warning for unalive of myself and people, suicide, and sexual assault (mind you these are not real, all dreams, if this is triggering you are safe, you can scroll away and ignore this) first off, sometimes if they don't make sense I can kinda yell at myself it's just a dream to wake up, like if my special interest goes dark kinda thing. I have read the meanings, but the events are usually because of fear, betrayal and hatred, but mostly of myself. I usually just dream of getting assaulted by random people I don't really know or like and one time I had a dream that I came out as trans as somebody and there were multiple signs they might be transphobic but I came out to them anyways, because they said they support which leant to a gruesome thing happening. I've also had dreams where I did give up and jump off a bridge and in some people care and some don't. it's kind of things like that. is there any, any tips on coping with this? these dreams are terrifying and idk what to do. it's been at least a few years now. again, I know this isn't (not really) asking for advice or tips or if something is normal. I'm just putting this out here because I want this out of my head so much. it's kept me awake so many nights and some nights (like tonight) I just can't sleep. (I will take this down if this is too triggering for this app I will take it down)

That sounds intense. I’m sorry you are going through this! For me personally, I journal the dream, the feelings that came up, if there were any triggers during the day that could’ve set the dreams off, and affirmations (like I’m safe, I’m awake, I am in control). It helps my brain to take it out and put it somewhere else. The affirmations help me ground myself. Identifying if you were triggered during the day and what happened with that can also be helpful especially if you didn’t have time to process it in the moment. You are not alone ❤️
