14 Days Sober: Struggling with Depression and Medication Switch

Today marks 14 days sober. I decided to quit drinking because it was having such a bad affect on my anxiety and depression. I have also switched medication recently. I have been feeling super depressed and unmotivated. I wonder if this is because of the medication switch or the withdrawals of not giving my body so much dopamine from the alcohol:(

So many drug interactions it's hard to name the culprit :( confiding in your doctor is my advice. Congratulations on your sobriety, and I give you best wishes in continuing!! ❤️❤️

Seven days sober here. 🤗 I'm so happy for you! The depression is almost definitely from withdrawal. If there's music or a podcast to listen to, or some other activity you can do to distract yourself, that can help get you through it. That and a medication change at the same time has got to be tough. You've got this! 💙

Yay!!!! Proud of you!!! The depression could definitely be coming from either withdrawals or medication switch, but either way it'll stabilize soon. You got this!!

Congratulations! That's definitely something to be proud of! Medication switches screw with me everytime. Sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better. Hang in there!
