This is going to be very hard to explain so please stay with me. for the past 2 years or so I have been having this issue where I will randomly start to feel very sick, my ears will start ringing, my face gets pale, I start to not be able to hear and I start to sweat and I pass out. I am usually only passed out for 15 to 30 seconds. but recovery afterwards is 15 minutes long. i was told that my body was shaking a little when i passed out one time. and even though my body is sweating, my body feels cold to the touch. and this is the most scary and exhausting thing my body has been through. and it's been happening more frequently. it used to happen every few months but lately it has been happening once a week or 2 times a week. and I already saw a doctor for this they did blood work on me and couldn't really find anything wrong. I made another appointment for a month from now but this is such a scary feeling I need to get some kind of idea of what could be wrong with me. if anyone has any idea please dm me. I am open to talking more about it.
So I'm not actually sure but I sometimes get similar symptoms (seizures as well) and I had to Google it after what you explained. Could possibly be a vertigo attack?
well that was just the first thing that popped up after searching the symptoms, but now that I read more about it, it sounds less likely. Do you feel a loss of coordination originally? I'm just asking because I'm not prone to having seizures, I've had two of them in my life. But right before it started, I would feel completely fine, and somehow within a few seconds I would get extremely dizzy and struggling to stand up and then I'd pass out. And you also mentioned it taking about 15 minutes to recover, which sounds about the same as what I experienced... so as others have commented, probably the best thing to do is try to track the symptoms and possibly see a neurologist. I know that with neuropathy you may experience shaking and/or numbness. That's an every day thing for me and I get overly sweaty as well, in the sense that I literally wake up in the morning freezing cold, but I'm still sweating. So that could be the problem if you have similar issues.
Have you tried to track these? Sometimes our mind and body have a bizarre way to communicate. Here's a template I found online to get started https://www.therapistaid.com/therapy-worksheet/thought-log -- adding a few more columns like 'Last meal before' and 'Next meal after' + 'Rate Sleep (1-10)'.
Track them with what you were doing, how much and what you've eaten and drank, how much you've slept, what helped you through and after, medications youre taking, and anything you think might be relevant to see if you can find any causes and speak to a neurologist. You may also want to try to go to an urgent care or similar during an episode to see if the tests come back differently or they can find more information.
I would request they do a brain scan as well just to cover bases, track them and make sure to write down all information l, times, mood, foods you've eaten that day, how you slept the night before, how much water you've had, ect. Maybe that could help narrow down a cause.
Thank you to everyone who has commented it means a lot. I really hope it's not something neurological but I had never really given that thought before. I have been keeping a log of when it happens and stuff like that. So hopefully that will help the doctor figure out what's wrong.
Okay, I have POTS, and I have experienced a lot of similar symptoms. Does it get worse if you're standing for a long time, are dehydrated or hungry? POTS is often overlooked in the diagnostic process. If you have a heart rate monitor, see if your heart rate changes more than 30 bpm from laying down to standing still within 10 minutes. I have only passed out a few times, but what you're saying sounds familiar.
