Has anyone had success with a daith piercing for migraines? I'm ready to start trying anything.

I have four of them, two in each ear. Honestly, I don’t think they’ve done a thing.

My mom got it (she gets bad migranes likei do) and she said it helped them not hurt as much but she still gets them

My Dad got one and I'm considering getting one for myself. He used to get migraines on a near daily basis that would have him resting more than he preferred and would make his daily life difficult. He got his done about two years ago, and while he still gets migraines, they aren't NEARLY as frequent/severe. Granted, that is him, and what works for some doesn't work for all.

I don’t have one but I do want to say acupuncture is another thing to consider if you’re thinking about a daith piercing

It really depends on the person, it's not a catch all solution for migraines, for some people it works great, other people it works great

I had a daith piercing and it was literally life changing for my migraines I went from having them alllll the time like a week long migraine every week to only once or twice a month :)

it’s actually a placebo effect lol

I'm pretty sure it's not placebo it's a pressure point. It also worked on me and I'm skeptical of EVERYTHING

I had my daiths pierced on two separate occasions because they did help me. But you have to find a piercer who know what they're doing; it won't help if it's pierced in the wrong spot. Tbh, I have considered getting mine pierced for a third time, but I have to get yearly MRIs of my brain. So I don't know if it's worth the trouble, even if I put in plastic piercings.

My migraines improved after getting a daith piercing, but unfortunately after having it for almost a year my ear never truly healed and it started to reject. I had to remove it and now I just have this weird bump scar thing. Migraines have returned.

this happened to me after I got mine don't worry though it heals it just takes a long time but my ear looks basically like I never even had it now and I plan on getting it redone and hoping it doesn't reject this time

My sister has them and she said they worked great, she still has migraines but she says they are a little less often and less painful. I myself am gonna get them, and even if they don't work, hey they still look cool💜

I got one back in May. It is in my right ear, as that is the side that I usually get my most severe migraines on. I have noticed a reduction of migraines on that side. Placement is very important. It has to get the pressure point right on. My neurologist was impressed with the placement and said it was one of the most exact she had seen.

I did it about two or three years ago and no improvement for me.

I wish there was a way to try something to see if it helps before having someone poke a hole in your ear
