Struggling with Mental Health After the Holidays

Hello, I’m new to the group what is normal I think that’s a made up word I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a bad time. Me too people don’t realise that when you suffer with depression you want to be happy but your brain just won’t let you in Christmas or any time are you gonna be hard if you need to talk, please don’t hesitate I don’t have anyone to talk to. I have two cats that’s so mad you can always talk to me sometimes it’s easy to talk to someone you don’t know because I won’t judge anyone

December/January is notorious for making people feel low, but it doesn't last. Winter ends, Spring flowers emerge, and the days start to get longer. Happiness is fleeting, aim for contentment - no one is happy all the time. Normal doesn't exist, so stop comparing yourself to impossible standards. Just be yourself. If you try to do good things with your life and avoid causing harm, then you are as perfect a human being, as you need to be. Keep your chin up - the sunshine will return.
