I have been struggling with doing the dishes for about a month. I posted here a week ago and everyone was super nice and helpful but they still aren't done. My husband says "it's too much" and won't even help me do them. So I called my mom. oh lord. She told me it was ridiculous that I needed help when i should be able to do it by myself. But she's coming tomorrow to help me. I just hate how low she makes me feel when I already feel bad about it. (Shes not normally like this, shes normally very accepting of my disabilities, its just when it comes to keeping my house clean) I told her it was my depression that made the pile so high and my anxiety that makes it unbearable to conquer but she doesn't understand and just assumes I'm lazy. I can't afford to pay someone to do them or I would have. It would have saved me the embarrassment of that phone call to mom and the embarrassment of her coming over tomorrow.

I try to do a load or two a day of dishes (if I get to it). I'm not an expert either. I often joke why can't I clean dishes like I do at work. It's confusing ,so I understand the problem. Maybe try downsizing your stuff like I am. You can follow my Pinterest board and Instagram boards if you like. You can message me if you want either user or to be friends. I can help explain what you're going through because that's exactly how I feel when I shut down mentally and can't clean because I get too overwhelmed by how much I need to clean. If I keep up on it though, it does help.

@Hannah_6 I honestly don't have a lot. It just accumulates from outside forces and then I'm struggling to keep up.
I run into the same issues sometimes. But I found it helpful if I did just a few of them at a time. That way I felt accomplished but not overwhelmed by having to do all of them at once.
@Ashleyv I told my husband to get up and he's helping me. So we-he is doing them right now. Lol. I have a virus and was nauseous so I laid down a second.
I was in the same boat a few years ago. It took so much to get them done but I did. Try listening to your favorite Music
@tikka I forced my husband to help! He actually listened.
