My doctor had me take a genetic test called GeneSight to figure out what combination of antidepressants work best with my body. I’d highly recommend it, since getting on the right one can dramatically improve results! It also helps clear up any anxiety about side effects/being on the right medication, since the test lets you know your personal risk for certain side effects and how the medicine will affect you in general. I’ve been on Pristiq for several years. My anxiety got worse this year too. Not sure if it’s the meds or if I’m just happier and more relaxed staying home. But it never hurts to ask your doc what other options you can try. If you do switch make sure you come off it slowly. I get crazy dizzy if I forget to take mine.
