I've about had it with BPD. It's gotten in the way of my relationship ever since I came to Nebraska, which was almost 3 years ago. It was the reason my partner and I split for a minute there. We're on jagged territory now and I don't want to lose them because they've been my best relationship out of all of the ones I've had. I just want it to go away and never come back.

@QuinnS is there one specific channel you use when I look it up on YouTube I get more of a broad definition rather than a guide. I like to know as much as possible about something before I attempt to start it and I don't even know where to start with dbt. What is definitely something I'm interested in learning more about

Can totally relate. BPD isn’t called the most painful mental disorder for no reason. The suffering it causes is incredible! The two life changers for me have been medication and Dialectic behavior therapy. You can find videos on YouTube . maybe even a a partner with BPD or something similar to keep each other accountable to follow through on what you learn.

Have you been working with a therapist? And for me with relationships I wrote down lists of the good and the bad and when I see what I wrote is bad I rationalize if it's honestly a bad or is it my mind thinking negatively... It helps me because it's written down in front of me and it makes it more "real" to me .. if that makes sense .. I have to do this with all relationships because my thinking will get the best if me and I sabotage good healthy relationships

Wow I feel you 100% I have BDP and Bipolar Disorder. I hope you can get a couples counselor or do more research to be able to keep him. Remember that a symptom is fear of abandonment and you have to know that you love them and want to keep them but you will be safe and okau without them if it doesn't work out. My bf and I had a big fight last night because I forgot about wanting to move with him. Its like I change my mind about everything and it doesn't benefit me or the people around me. We talked it out and I will be writing everything down now so I can refer back to it and not have a lapse again.

@PrettyPolar2 Yeah, I've got BPD and schizoaffective, bipolar type so living with the worst diagnoses sucks. But I think I'm going to start journaling or practicing meditation to help ease symptoms from now on. We got into a heated discussion - since we dont really raise voices above talking level - about literally everything, including the fact that I'm never working and the relationship part, and just stress in general. I'm going to therapy once a week, and I also see a doctor and talk to her about symptoms too so it shouldn't have been that bad.

@deathlost wow I'm happy that you were able to talk things out! Yeah those diagnoses are a lot, I'm sorry you had to go through all the shit to be diagnosed with those.

You’re not alone, we can often feel like we want it to go but it’s more learning to live with it, making your own ways of coping and getting stronger with how you manage it
