If you use scripts and find them useful, do you have any for talking about yourself with others? And for questions to ask them? I know that most of the time, I am overwhelmed by most input (sensory, informational, emotional, etc) and that can mean I’m spending a lot of time regulating and not really talking to those around me. I’d like to be better at socializing on my own terms, but I need a jumping off point to start. I might be thinking too much into this, but it usually helps me to have more information and ideas to work with. I hope that makes sense!

I’m not sure if it would help, but I’ll put it out there just in case. I know my brain and mind quite well (thanks to 20 years of therapy, I suppose), so I’ve noticed and learnt a lot of the topics/sentences/scripts that wear me out quickly. I spent some time putting together a variety of scripts based on what I knew, then pared them down to which ones worked best in my head and required less intense focus to remember and follow. I tested the few remaining amongst friends I trusted, but if you don’t have friends you’d feel comfortable with, maybe just rehearsing it out loud would help? Even bringing up a photo of someone if that would help with accuracy, whether you actually look at it or not. (I’d think that one of someone you trust or just enjoy knowing would be less draining.) Again, idk if any of this will help, but maybe it’ll help you think of something that will. I wish you success!! ✨

@serendi it is really helpful for me to have guidelines for how to create those scripts, as well! I’ve been on like, low brain power mode, which shuts off being able to organize and plan. lol. Thank you for taking the time to write out those steps, and explaining how it works for you! It helps remind me of how I can look at the way I’m doing things, and get back on the track I’d like to be on. I appreciate the well wishes, too! ✨
