Good morning everyone! (Well, it’s morning where I am, that is.) anyhow, I thought I’d share a life tip that I just used and had completely forgotten about how helpful it’s been for me over the years. I have been notorious for self-harming to cope with anything in my life, thanks to my anxiety and mood disorders, and I always end up doing it to the point that it hurts or bleeds. I started with cutting, but after going to therapy, I now nail bite to the worst extent, or I bite the inside of my mouth until it bleeds/has chunks missing. Gross, I know, but it’s what my body has always been used to, and I’m working on it🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s gotten a lot better after changing jobs and having my life settle down a bit, but I still find myself doing it occasionally when the anxiety revs up again. So, for the nail-biting pain, I’ll take some triple antibiotic ointment, and I’ll squeeze it into the little gap between my fingernail and the skin, then I’ll wrap a bandaid around it. In a couple of hours, maximum, it’s all healed up and the pain is completely gone! I don’t have a remedy for the mouth biting just yet, but I just wanted to share to maybe help someone else have one less thing to worry about 🙂

Acute Anxiety

Chronic Generalized pain

absplutely! I hope it helps you out! It’s SUCH a hard maladaptive coping skill to kick, but I think being able to know that there’s a solution for the pain can certainly help! 🙂
