Khosh

I’m truly ashamed to admit this but I need help because I want to get better. I often find myself frustrated and angry inside when people I know have been though less and have more sensitive triggers than me. It makes me feel like I don’t have the space to be hurt myself. I always listen and validate their trauma and help any way I can. But I hate feeling mad at people I care about because inside I’m like “why are you so sensitive? That’s nothing. You should be stronger.”

that's totally normal to feel. It almost feels insulting, why do they get to be upset when you went through so much worse? Why don't they have to be strong like you were? It's your turn to be anxious and upset and traumatized and to get the same sympathy for your mountains that everyone else is getting for their molehills. It's understandable to feel that way when you haven't had any outlet to vent your frustrations and your hurt or when you've had to be strong for someone else, like a parent or a younger sibling. Addressing these kinds of thoughts are exactly what therapy is all about, especially in cases of PTSD. It makes sense that you're angry. Finding a therapist can be difficult and scary, but so worth it in the long run
