The best reason I know of to seek out a diagnosis is if you feel the need for any extra accommodations and support. I'm 27 and getting assessed in 2 weeks because I really struggle with keeping jobs and maintaining relationships. Getting a diagnosis for me means that I'll be able to ask for accommodation for better work environments, and being able to explain to friends and family so they understand my needs when it comes sensory issues/overload, etc.
