Why won't my parents understand my anxiety?

it’s really suckish because i know my parents actually care about me, they just don’t have the capacity to understand what it’s like to have certain illnesses. ive had to come to terms with the fact that there are things i experience that others will never understand, and things others have experienced that i will never understand and that’s OKAY. it doesn’t invalidate any experience.

It hurts me a lot when my mom still says things like this. I don't really have anyone to run to when I'm having breakdowns. She's been in the same room with me and my therapist for multiple sessions , but she still doesn't understand. It hurts and fuels my depression by alot.

or they say it's cuz the phone 💀

Because they haven’t experienced what we had, maybe they had bits of anxiety for a few minutes and they believe its the same. Unfortunately it can be hard for them to understand.

Exactly it’s extremely hard for me also
