Hey, I gotta ask...does anyone else think bad thoughts when they are alone. Like all the worst things you could think about yourself are being told to you. Does anyone get like this? If so, how do you cope?

@Green_ thank you. I can try those. The ice sounds like a good one too.

Yeah this happens to me a lot. For me, I think it’s because of my brain and body storing negative energy that it needs to get out. So when I’m alone those thoughts are sort of a release. So I like to try and find alternatives to release that energy: Punching a pillow, crying, shouting, singing loudly, dancing. These are what I use whenever there is pent up anger in me that is telling me all these bad things. But sometimes I think it could also be when I feel numb that those distressing thoughts are my brain trying to stimulate me again. So instead I use these to stimulate myself in a healthy way: eating spicy/sour/cold food, holding an ice cube. Sometimes I need a distraction from those thoughts. Here’s what I use: watching tv/videos, reading, music, doing art (even just scribbling helps), I like to hang out with my pets, exercise (even just walking), socializing (sometimes I just go on discord and enter random chats), and sleeping. All of these are things I’ve used to get rid of/ distract myself from those negative thoughts. These thoughts led me to self harm, and I think that these strategies can also help as a healthy alternatives/distractions. I hope you get some comfort. And I hope these strategies help you. (If they don’t that’s totally fine) <3
