Exploring Natural Sleep Aids: Thoughts on Magnesium?

I'm trying to step away from taking medication. My psychiatrist and I are going to be working on possibly finding supplements and vitamins that can be beneficial. So....what are your thoughts on Magnesium (Glycanate?) for sleep? What else might be good to look into for me to actually get uninterrupted sleep?

Magnesium glycinate is a good one for stress and sleep, I take that with another broad spectrum magnesium supp, also take a look at valerian root, melatonin, chamomile and passionflower.

I heard that vitamin D can help sleep if you're not getting the normal "daily dose" I've heard taking cbn can help as well, but I have pretty bad insomnia so I can't speak from personal experience
