KT for joints that cause painful popping/grinding? I’ve used KT tape for troublesome injuries in the past. For example, hurting my knee in soccer. But I haven’t used it for my shoulder, which is the most problematic for pain and popping. I imagine it’d be helpful for eds but figured I’d ask: Does anyone use KT tape for hypermobile joints and find it helpful?

Joint pain

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Joint Stiffness

Acute muscle weakness

@TunaGoon thanks for sharing! I have a bit of a wait before I can go to a physical therapist or any other dr for my EDS so I wanted to look into taping at home until then bc I need something.

My pt said that taping is better than braces because it guides my joints to do the right movement without making them completely rely on a brace. Only thing I would warn you about is that sometimes people with EDS can develop allergies to the adhesive on KT tape from overuse

@EDSdancer thank you! I was thinking it might be the best option for movement. I will try to limit how much I use it, and of course listen to what the PT says when I get in. Appreciate you sharing!

@Wanderinglumos I used it and it was really helpful!! I do have adhesive allergies so I would wear them as long as possible where they were starting to peel off and try to remove them once they’re soaked in the shower. Skin was still irritated but it was not peeling my skin off like taking it off dry

How expensive does KT tape get? That's the thing holding me back from trying it. How many times can I use it etc.

@agentleanbean i think you can buy it in bulk on like Amazon, and not getting name brand also brings down the price

@agentleanbean I use the "ok" brand on Amazon. Its way less expensive and seems to work better for us anyways.
