@FutureNurse lactobasilis gasseri strain! a broad spectrum probiotic would do good too. I recommend the liquid probiotic from dr berg

Has it affected your nerves in your back and stomach areas?

@jenni_star what probiotics do you take? Is there a recommended strand of bacteria for gastritis?

I just got diagnosed as well. I’m trying different things. I got prescribed the same thing as well as diet changes. I haven’t noticed much of a difference yet either.

@FutureNurse none of my meds worked on me. I am lactose intolerant and the meds I took all had minimal amounts of milk in them which still made me sick. Cutting out all acidic foods and taking a probiotic and eating all kinds of living foods to heal guts have helped the most.

Ok thank you!! I do eat a lot of acidic foods and it's hard to stop lol

@shymermaid do you want to feel better or not? Cut them all out. Your gut needs to heal!

The easiest way to describe the diet for gastritis, GERD, Interstitial Cystitis and other acid impacted organ illnesses is as follows: If I have an open wound, would putting this ingredient in my sore hurt or not matter? For example, vinegar, lemon/citrus and tomato based products hurt a whole lot in an open wound- DON’T EAT THOSE Good examples, sweet and mild applesauce or apple products in general, bland/mild pieces of chicken or other lean meat would be fine, (supposedly fish in some forms is actually healing- and you can probably eat fish with gastritis!) and you can eat these without pain!

Probiotics! Likely you will need prescription strength, at least for a while, but probiotics in combination with Pantoprozol and radical diet change literally saved my stomach.
