my teeth hurt and one has a divot on the inside, im sure it's worse, but im so fucking scared. i knew this would happen, ive sporadically brushed my teeth for the past 5~ years and i don't know if i made it to a point of no return or know what i even have. my biggest fear is judgement from anyone, including my dentist, on this. ive only rlly just started brushing my teeth daily but im still so scared what do i do

Do not be scared of judgement, your health should be your top priority! If your teeth are still okay the dentist will be able to tell you.

I get where you're coming from. I was the same way. I do recommend getting to a dentist ASAP though bc you wanna stop any decay that you can so you can save as many teeth as you can. I had to get a tooth pulled and 3 root canals, and a mouthful of cavities. It's never too late to improve your dental hygiene. And I know it's more effort and sucks but flossing is also good. I use little singular flossers instead of actual floss tho, so much easier. But starting with brushing your teeth twice a day and going to the dentist, it's a good start. Dentists have seen worse. No worries! Good luck deary!

I’m not sure how you would go about doing this, but maybe find a dentist that specializes in/ seen a lot of patients with a lot of damage. That way you know your case won’t be something out of the ordinary for them! I’m not sure what the best way to go about finding a dentist like this would be, but I have an idea that might work. You could reach out to an addiction center in your area or a service like that and see if they have any dentists they typically recommend since sometimes people who have struggled with addiction for a while end up with a lot of dental/oral health issues. I would imagine a dentist that is experienced in this area wouldn’t be judgmental and would help you feel more comfortable! Wishing you luck 💕

I know your feelings well. I had periodontal disease and had to have my teeth removed. I also suffered from tmj pain. Just go in and say I know I haven't been doing what I should but I want to try and fix it. Hopefully you don't feel judged and hopefully you get a nice dentist. Also just breathe and know that they will help.
