Has anyone with fibromyalgia and chronic migraines been to a chiropractor? Did it help any? My pain is getting worse and can't find any medication to help..

I was having chest pains about 10 years ago and they couldn't find a cause, so they diagnosed it as fibromyalgia. I also have chronic migraines. I went to a chiropractor twice a week for a few months for adjustments and the chest pain dissapeared. My headache frequency went down. I stopped the chiropractic treatments and after 6 years the fibromyalgia is back occasionally.

I've never written before but I had a massive stroke in 2017 and it has left me with a speech defect a paralysed right arm and hand along with a partially paralysed right leg with foot drop. My thing is I'm the same person I was but I'm so lonely I feel no one wants to be around me or invite me to outing any more. I'm trying too get out of wheelchair

I have felt such a huge difference now with my chiripractor. My lower and upper back pain along with my siactic butt and pain have almost diminished. Yea I am still but painful but it has decreased where I can atleast be comfortable and its more managable. If your insurance wont cover one try looking up The Joint Chiropractor. They have businesses throught the US. The best part is their prices are amazing if you have to pay out of pocket and they are walk in so no appointment needed. https://www.thejoint.com/

I use two different chiropractors depending on what I need they doth teat a little different. I use a chiropractor that is an upper cranial specialist which is a soft gentle treatment mostly focuses of the top 3 vertabrays. It is a tapping motion behind the ear. They use very precise measurements some use an infrared light to help check the alignment. The other one I use will use ultrasound and tens therapy along with a deep tissue massage on my low back as he is putting me in place. I do have fibromyalgia and I also have buldging disc in the low back and neck. Sometimes that is the only relief I can get for my pain. I all allergic to NSaids, Gabipentin and Narcotics for pain.

I don't think my dr has tried that one I'm not sure tho the name doesn't sound to familiar it just sucks so bad that I am constantly in pain and most of the time having to stay in bed which is causing severe muscle weakness and I've been trying to push myself to be more active but the pain gets so bad that I start crying and I have a high pain tolerance and as I get older the pain gets worse I think my sciatica nerve may be pinched as well cause sometimes the pain will shoot down into my lady area and it'll feel like it's getting stabbed with multiple knives

I justed started had 2 visits so far so too soon to tell. Pain gabapentin was like a placebo. Just started amitryptilline since most pain meds arent safe while breastfeeding. My chiropractor says it should also help with migraines so we'll see.

Going to a chiro REALLY helped with my pain. It's been generally associated as a trauma disorder manifested in the body. I went to messages acupuncture and chiropractor and saw a HUGE improvement. There are still some places that ate constantly SORE but I'm not as miserable. I still get back spasms but that could be my scoliosis. Gabapenten and Cymbalta gave me very little relief. I hope this helps. Also my chronic complicated migraines are gone. The gabapenten DID help significantly with that but when I was pregnant with my 2nd son I couldn't take it any more

@rikki3524 I'm on gabapenten and was on cymbalta plus flexaril and nothing is helping my pain so I was going to try the chiropractor and see if that would help even when I had to be temporarily put on Norcos those barely helped

Hi, yes I have seen a chiropractor for those reasons and it helped. However I also have arthritis, so it can be hard to tell what ailment is causing the pain. It definitely helped though, I was going a few times a week, but stopped because of my insurance. I wish I could go back. If you decide to try it I would ask people you trust for recommendations, or at least research before going. Not all chiropractors are good, and you don't want to feel worse. Good luck!

@Raquel226 that's the thing with me my pain I think is to severe for it to be just fibromyalgia but my insurance won't pay for a mri of my lower spine and hips I can barely stand up for 5 mins without having to sit down and some times I can't get out of bed from it being so severe and my dr tried to send me to physical therapy and my insurance declined it as well
