I kinda just want to vent? I guess.. Someone's knocking on, what I think is one of our neighbors doors? but it sounds a little bit like our door and I'm suddenly paranoid. No real reason to be, no specific thought. Brain just panic. I had to pee but I was afraid to turn on the light (I was legit afraid that they, whoever was knocking, would see the light and know I was home) so I turned on my phone flash, to walk to the bathroom, closed the door then turned on the lights. I feel weak and crazy. I hate this.

It’s just your brain preparing you for all the wild what-if’s. It’s really cool actually…but it doesn’t really ever feel that way. I do stuff like this ALL the time. I recently felt awful because a guy was walking behind me and I was CONVINCED he going to do something to me even though he was being perfectly respectful and never did hurt me. So I thought to myself, I’m prepared for the worst, I have my pepper spray and I have a plan. Then trust that you’ll know what to do should the disaster come. “Prepare for the worst, expect the best.” Idk if that’s helpful…but it helps me directly in the moment. Then I can process how crazy my thought was later! But in the moment it helps to think about it you’re ready for the sky to cave in should it.
