Hi! I don’t really have a question, but I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately and it’s been difficult to manage my health on top of my job and normal responsibilities. I want to apply to nursing school, but I’m terrified that it will be too much for me. I’d love advice, or to listen to others complain, or to just chat about whatever.

Something that's really helped me that I started doing a few years ago is just keeping a little notebook that I write down every time I test my sugar or take insulin and the time... I know I should have done that all along, but for some reason those logs the doctor gave me to fill out just never worked for me so I thought I just couldn't do it until I found a system that worked for me.

I just started working for the first time in a while(cleaning houses), and I'm trying to get my driver's license too, while managing T1D without insurance. 😥 it's really hard, I just set some alarms to tell me to check my blood sugar. I normally test a lot, but with the work I've been forgetting and then it goes too high and stuff, so I'll let you know how that goes. I'm trying to think of other things I can do. I also told my sister and mother who I live with to keep the junk food out of the kitchen so I don't eat it when I'm exhausted and not doing self control well. That helped. Between the jobs, health problems and trying to fit driving in, i just feel like I've been spending all my down time just trying to relax myself so I'm not too off kilter to do the next thing I have to get done, and I haven't been able to do things I really want to like play music and sew and that makes me sad.

It can be too much. I would try doing one thing at a time whenever possible.

Hi! Thank you for sharing this 😊. I'm not sure I have any advice, but I've been feeling similarly (struggling with day to day living, trying to find ways of improving and better managing my health, and planning my future without present access to sufficient energy hahaha). I'd enjoy hearing more about your situation (so cool that you have nursing school ambitions, whether that comes to pass for you or not) and commiserating sometime! 💚
