I quit my job today. I was there almost 10 years, and feel like I've wasted that time and have nothing to show for it. I don't know what to do about another job, I've been stuck at home and afraid to go out. please tell me I'm not the only one...how do you guys work?

@mem0000 it took me 3 times before I got approved for my ssd. I got a lawyer and then got approved. It took about a year and a half before I got my ssd.

Feel lucky. I've tried working and can't handle it. I stress so easily and have memory issues. I've been stuck on disability for almost 29 years

I'm struggling with work also. I have to work high stress jobs for the pay and I'm burnt out and exhausted. I've had 4 jobs in a year and I hate them all. my new job is 10 hour days I hate it. but the pay is good. but I'm so exhausted and I hate working at night. not sure I'm gonna be here long
I really struggled with this before the pandemic/quarantine, but since then, I have actually been doing really well with UberEATS and Door Dash. I basically work when I feel up to it, quit when I need to, and it is really low stress since most of my deliveries are just picking up the food, delivering it, leaving it on the porch, snapping a photo in the app, and leaving. No bosses yelling at me to work harder even though I am on the verge of exhaustion, no rude customers, since like I said, it's drop, snap and go. It's been like a dream job as far as my anxiety goes.
My biggest priority when I'm feeling burnt out and need to rest from a big change like that is to try and rest as much as I possibly can. The hard part is building the momentum back up, but if you want to talk about that I'm happy to share my experiences! Unfortunately I've never been at a workplace as long a you have, but I hope I can still help in some way.
@mem0000 I understand how you fell, I been at my job longer and I have mixed feelings. I currently trying to find another job. I’m bored at work, so I find little things to entertain me through out the day. Otherwise it’s hard. Try to find another job when your ready.
I am on social security disability for my anxiety and depression. My doctor doesn’t want me working. My stress level was out of the roof when I was working.
@Cancer was it easy to get on ss? I don't know how I'm going to hold down a job
@mem0000 you could apply for short term disability before you go for your ssd. Atleast then you would still have money coming in.
I understand that. My social anxiety is bad I have to have an outfit that I feel like helps and have to have everything I need. I also have to look like I know what Im doing. There's a lot of bad luck going around and I feel so sensitive to my loved ones struggles. Self talk helps, asking why until you figure out the root cause. Focusing on the little things helps you get through to the bigger picture. I've realized I'm strong and awesome but I still have it.
