Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the thought out of my mind that my husband is cheating on me. I try not to have these thoughts but they won't go away

Can I ask a free questions first? Because as someone who has a history of having been cheated on, I think sometimes these thoughts become part of a trauma experience that are extremely difficult to ever get rid of. For me the only thing that helped was time and seeing first hand how loyal he was compared to past boyfriends, realizing he had a strong character compared to past people I was in relationships with

Have you been cheated on before, if so you should talk to him because if you feel insecure from your past, then you need to work on it so it doesn't sabotage your future

I feel like this because we just got back together about 9 years ago because I found out he was on dating sites and when I asked him to choose between me and the dating sites he chose the dating sites so we split up for about 8 months. We are in marriage counseling right now but I am scared to bring certain things up in our sessions

I don’t think this is an irrational thought at all, and you have every right to want reassurance

I often struggle with these intrusive thoughts as well .. even though my partner hasn't really given any real or rational reasons to believe its anything more then my own internal broken mind... I have anxiety and depression and C-PTSD, I struggle with self esteem issues as well as abandonment issues. Because of these issues I have my mind can be my own worse enemy.. but with what you said about him going on dating sites and choosing them over you at one point to cause a split between you two.. those are all legit red flags that you deserve to have addressed while your in marriage counseling.. there's not point in doing the counseling if your not going to bring all the issues to the table.. your not being irrational and you deserve to speak your mind and express your thoughts.
