Has anyone else got the VNS implanted in them? Do you think it actually works?

I got it back in 2011, had them put the newer version in now. Honestly I'm not sure at this point. In the beginning you can hear the electric waves going through your neck for however long its set but over time it's not a miracle cure. I'd forget I have it if I didn't have the scars
