does anyone have any methods/techniques to help with intrusive or unwanted thoughts? for the past couple weeks I've really struggled with intrusive thoughts, and more specifically the fear that these thoughts are going to slip out of my head and that I'm going to say them by out loud by accident. and like, the thoughts are things I don't even mean or want to say or even things I believe. idk it's just really scary and I hate the idea of saying something I can't take back if that makes sense, and it makes me feel like I'm a bad person for even thinking these things even though they don't reflect my beliefs or feelings in the slightest

Sounds like classic OCD, it’s okay… I have intrusive thoughts where I have a fear of making a scene in public. You’re not going to act on those thoughts, just remind yourself of that. Though one time, I was super intoxicated off of multiple substances and acted on an OCD thought, that was not good. A psychiatrist could recommend an SSRI but I personally won’t fuck with those. I just take the punches. They’ll go away.
@Phasers honestly that's a big fear of mine too, I like to smoke on occasion with my friends but lately it's been scary bc when I'm under the influence I guess I'm less in control of myself and I'm worried about acting on those thoughts in those circumstances
