Dealing with Chronic Skin Issues: Seeking Advice

I used to get these too!! For over like two decades… all over my body, head, back, chest, arms, legs, butt, some places worse than others. All testing was useless tbh… biopsies revealed anything from yeast to bacteria. I finally got talked into going on Accutane even though it wasn’t technically acne my provider felt that it might benefit me since all other drugs and treatments failed or made it worse. Low and behold, this is the first time in over two decades that I have completely clear skin. Accutane is an Extremely strong and dangerous drug though and you do have to see a dermatologist and have monthly check-in’s and if you are a female you also have to have monthly pregnancy tests completed Etc. I’m not 100% sure it was actually the medicine or something else going on but, my experience using Accutane was not completely horrible and it truly seemed to work wonders. It does have extreme side effects though that your provider will have to discuss with you. Best of luck!
