does anyone know how to deal with daily irritableness or feel uncomfortable all the time? it really isn't anything specific that causes me to feel this way. if one little thing bothers me, the whole week might be ruined. I have a hard time getting to asking for help or communicating about it to my mom and let's just say our relationship could be A LOT better. I can't enjoy things I like, I love going out but if something doesn't sit right with me, I end up in a breakdown or a 2hour panic attack on my way home.

When it comes to irritability, for me at least, the best thing I can do is to practice deep breathing and/or grounding techniques while reframing my perspective. If my mom does something that irritates me, for example, I ask myself why she might do that. If I’ve made a mistake that is irritating me, ask myself if I’d be as upset if a friend made the same mistake. Or if it’s nothing I can control, remind myself of that. If none of that works, I remind myself of the bigger picture and how insignificant what I’m upset with is. Reframing your thoughts takes a lot of practice, but it’s the best way to combat irritability in my experience. Do you have a therapist you can talk to? Having someone to talk to who can give you a new perspective helps as well. As far as struggling with reaching out for help, think of it this way: would I be upset if someone were to ask me for help in this way? Probably not. Treat yourself as if you are a good friend to yourself. And that takes practice to but it can be done. I hope this helps at least a little.

I heavily relate to this. personally for me, it’s just building tolerance and becoming comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. I’m not sure if we deal with the same symptoms, but I noticed you also have PTSD. for me, it causes a lot of constantly being on high alert, which always makes me uncomfortable. i’ve started just branching out of my comfort zone and bringing comfort items or a comfort person with me places. I have a heated stuffed animal that i always bring and leave in the car wherever I go. even if it does cause a break down, it’s still progress because you were able to go do the thing you want! It’s hard to subconsciously accept that some situations aren’t actually a threat in your brain, and it’s just your fight or flight that’s constantly turned on. for me, irritability comes hand in hand with anxiety and uncomfortableness. it’s so difficult to manage, but i promise you it gets better and even just the smallest efforts are so big. be gentle and patient with yourself. wishing you the absolute best🤍🤍🤍
