How to Beat the Heat and Get Some Sleep?

It's summer so let's talk temperature regulation issues. How do you cool down enough to get to sleep? I've tried cranking the AC, fans, putting an ice pack on the back of my neck...nothing helps. I honestly wish I could afford one of those fancy systems that cools your bed for you but I'm broke until I get disability. I'm so close to bathing in ice cubes. I'm running out of ideas.

      I’ve been having my boyfriend put BioFreeze on my lower back. I know it’s for pain but it also really helps cool me down.

      Between my fibro and these horrible hot flashes I'm all over the map. I’ve always been the one complaining that's its cold, now my daughter and husband complain that it's too cold! Keep a wet/damp wash cloth beside your bed lay it across your face or chest. That should cool you down quickly!

      I have been staying cold. I don't know what it is but I don't have a problem with the heat.

      If you can afford it bamboo sheets and pillow cases make a big difference. They also sell cooling mattress pads that help a lot. Last year I bought a cooling pad for my dog (non electric) and she didn't use it so I tried it and it also worked great.

        @luteallady I bought my dog one too.....gotta find it so I can use it. My fans don't seem to be doing their jobs!!!

        @luteallady Ugh! Me too. My toddler ended up claiming it since the moose prefers the floor.

          @Michaelar1 in that case, the main thing I know is to keep your neck, armpits and feed cool. Maybe freeze wash cloths? Best of luck.

      Maybe taking a cold shower before bed, sleeping nude, putting your blanket in front of the AC so that when you lay down and cover up it feels nice n chilled..

        @Tishh forgot to mention that I share a king-sized bed and the AC is a small vent in the wall and we have a 3-month-old puppy who eats everything and whose crate is in front of that vent 😅 I do sleep nude though. I did that long before fibro. It's just comfier
