I just had a very intense therapy session talking about how my moving so much during childhood did actually cause me a significant amount of trauma even though it was exciting at the same time. I'm watching YouTube right now to calm down. What are your guys' favorite ways to calm down after an intense session?

Binge watch some crime programs, it's satisfying to see the culprit get caught in the end. Eat my favourite junk foods and pet my cat

If I'm on YT, I like to watch rug cleaning videos. Otherwise I'll journal, listen to music or very rarely I'll put on a movie or TV show.

I lost count of moving after about 50 times, I'm 42, so that's a lot.

Loud Music and a reward for opening up in therapy so well, like my favorite snack or drink on the way home

Comedy/laughter helps me as well. I also like to meditate, play with my puppy, talk with a friend, listen to music, go for a walk.

Ooh.. I moved schools a lot as a kid so I get you! My favorite tool right now is actually funny videos. I find laughter is a super good distraction! Playing a video game or working a puzzle is also helpful to me. I find if I put my brain to work is more helpful than trying a meditate or more chill activity, becuase then my brain wanders in the latter.
